We start with a two-week onboarding process kicked off with a meeting with your account manager. You fill out our intake form (the heaviest lifting you have to do the entire time!). From there, we create your brand strategy deck, your custom pitch, and your first list of podcasts that we want to pitch you to. You will review the brand strategy deck and pitch so that before we even start sending out emails, we are aligned on strategy, demographics, and goals. Then, we start pitching top of week three! Once we start pitching, the rest of The Podcast Tour is a rinse and repeat process. Your account manager will email you when a podcast is interested in having you on with a presentation email which will give you everything you need to know about the opportunity (there are millions of podcasts - you might not know every single one we bring you!). From there, we schedule and coordinate with the podcast host. The interview shows up in your calendar with everything you need to know about the opportunity and you just show up and give the interview! Your account manager will send out a Weekly Update email every Thursday with a high-level summary of the work she did that week so that you are always informed and in-the-know when it comes to the progress of your Podcast Tour.

We book big podcasts all the time - for some of our biggest clients and for clients who are just starting out! We always love performing miracles for our clients. That being said, big podcasts does not = ROI. We put our clients on a range of small, medium, and large podcasts. This is because the small and medium ones can bring much more tangible ROI at times than the big ones! While there is no guarantee that we can get you on a specific podcast, we book big podcasts for our clients all the time.

We always say that a 4 month Podcast Tour can take anywhere from 8-12 months to come to fruition. Between syncing calendars and working with a podcast host’s editorial calendar, episodes can be scheduled, recorded, and published within two weeks or it can be scheduled and recorded in 3 months and then published 2 months after the interview. This is why we say podcasting is such an evergreen and longterm strategy! Throughout the year, you will have episodes that are dropping.

We have created a podcast algorithm that helps us assess whether each podcast is a good fit for you. Since podcast downloads are private, we look at each opportunity holistically. We look at subject matter alignment, past guests (are they people we want you to be associated with and in the same room with?). ratings (not a fool proof metric but something we have to work with), who the host is (what is their reputation and accomplishments outside of being a podcast host), the host’s social media following, and if they are on a network (which can determine a base. level of downloads and at the very least, credibility). We are also sizing up each opportunity against your Brand Strategy Deck to make sure it hits at least one of your objectives and pillars that we outlined.
